The Token – ZULEYA

Shamsa Alabbar is an experimental line based on Arabic typography to create unusual beauty. Her collection takes traditional Arabic calligraphy that has been an integral part of Arabic culture for thousands of years and reworked it to create something unusual and simultaneously beautiful.

For this piece Shamsa deconstructed her geometric letters and choose a powerful shape to create a pattern with. She named this shape ‘Token’ , as it has slowly become a token of her brand identity. The token has also been associated with a lot of charity projects in the pasted few years, therefore she made sure to include it in this special piece. The Token is a symbol of unity, strength, and hope.
